About Emily
I earned my Bachelor’s in Developmental Psychology at the University of Windsor and Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University. During my Bachelor’s degree, I spent a lot of time working with children who have autism and have engaged in a variety of individual and urban communities within the Windsor-Essex County area through volunteering and employment with the primary focus being on individual growth and wellbeing. Since then, my time has been prioritized in conducting and administering psychometric measures to qualitatively and quantitatively understand how pathology has impacted overall functioning across adult populations.
In my current supervised practice, I have a strong interest in helping adult clients mitigate challenges of anxiety, depression, ADHD, trust issues, meaning-making, loss of purpose, stress reduction, and somatic complaints, using an eclectic approach of modalities to better suit the needs of each person — specifically, cognitive, psychodynamic, and humanistic theories.
Being passionate about helping people recognize their potential, navigating their lives, and thriving in their environments, I have the intention to pursue a PsyD in clinical psychology to further my understanding and knowledge to eventually work as a sex therapist, marriage and couple’s counsellor.
