About Tiff
I believe that healing can come from sharing one’s story in a safe space, and with the proper therapeutic tools, clients can use their strengths to gain better control over their lives again.
My educational background in both kinesiology and education is the root of my biopsychosocial approach to therapy, appreciating the many factors that affect our mental health. Before obtaining my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University, I spent over 12 years as an instructor, learning specialist, and academic and career counsellor at the University of Windsor. My previous experiences are the foundation of my person-centred approach to assisting clients in reaching their therapeutic goals through enhanced self-awareness, mindfulness in daily life and individualized psychoeducation, emphasising the mind-body relationship.
My work is grounded in Cognitive Behavioural Theory (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). All of these can be applied to a wide range of populations, experiences and phases throughout the lifespan and can help reach goals in overall mental health.
