About the Group
You don't need to be a meditator. You don't need to sit still for an hour or clear your mind completely. Mindfulness is simpler than most people think — and more useful than most people expect.
At its core, mindfulness is the ability to notice what's happening right now, in your body and your mind, without rushing to fix it or push it away. It sounds straightforward, but when you're caught up in worry about the future, replaying something from the past, or running on autopilot through your day, that simple act of noticing can feel almost impossible.
This workshop is a practical introduction to mindfulness skills that are grounded in evidence-based therapeutic practice. Over six weekly sessions in a small group (maximum six participants), you'll learn techniques you can start using right away — not just during the workshop, but in your daily life. No prior experience with meditation or mindfulness is needed. If you've never tried it before, this is a welcoming place to start. If you've tried it and struggled to stick with it, the group structure and guided practice can help you build consistency.

Build a daily practice with brief, realistic exercises you can sustain beyond the workshop
In this 6-session, in-person group (max 6 participants), you'll learn practical skills to:
This is not just information. It's hands-on skill-building you can apply right away.

Why practise mindfulness in a group?
There's a reason mindfulness traditions have always involved practising together. When you sit with others, the shared stillness creates a kind of accountability that's genuinely hard to replicate alone — it's easier to stay present when the people around you are doing the same thing.
The group also normalizes the experience of a wandering mind, which is the single biggest reason people give up on mindfulness ("I can't stop thinking, so I must be doing it wrong").
Hearing that everyone's mind wanders — even the facilitators' — takes the pressure off and lets you focus on the practice instead of the performance.

Frequently asked questions
-
Not at all. This workshop is designed for beginners and for people who've tried mindfulness before but struggled to make it stick. We start with the basics and build from there.
-
No. While mindfulness has roots in contemplative traditions, our workshop is grounded entirely in evidence-based psychological practice. The focus is on practical skills for awareness, emotional regulation, and stress reduction — not on any belief system.

Many extended health plans cover registered psychotherapy services, including group workshops. Check with your provider about your specific coverage. We provide receipts for reimbursement.

Each session introduces new skills and builds on previous ones, so consistent attendance is encouraged. If you miss a session, you can connect with the facilitators for a brief catch-up, but missed sessions cannot be rescheduled or refunded.
-
Absolutely. Mindfulness skills complement virtually every therapeutic approach. If you're currently in individual therapy — whether at our practice or elsewhere — the skills you build here will support that work. Many of our therapists integrate mindfulness into their individual sessions as well.
